DUBLIN, Ohio, Sept. 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) today is showcasing its newly operational Consumer Health Logistics Center, a 350,000-square-foot facility in Groveport, Ohio. Purpose-built as a centralized replenishment hub, this facility serves as a vital link in the company's supply chain, efficiently distributing over-the-counter medications, treatments, and diagnostic solutions to a network of more than 20 forward distribution centers serving customers nationwide.
"This first-of-its kind hub marks another key milestone in our multi-year strategy to expand capacity and drive efficiencies across our pharmaceutical distribution network," said Debbie Weitzman, CEO, Pharmaceutical & Specialty Solutions. "As demand for consumer health products continues to grow, the Consumer Health Logistics Center is providing our customers with comprehensive products and solutions to meet the evolving needs of patients."
As part of a multi-year strategy, Cardinal Health is investing in infrastructure and technology to increase efficiency, capacity and customer service levels. The Consumer Health Logistics Center uses automation and a hub-and-spoke logistics model to optimize consumer health product inventory across the pharmaceutical distribution network, to deliver the right product at the right time, in the right place.
"The Consumer Health Logistics Center underscores our commitment to operational excellence through innovation," said Jamie Barker, SVP, Pharmaceutical and Specialty Supply Chain. "By improving accuracy, speed and reliability, we are better positioned to meet customer expectations and support the safety and well-being of our employees. It's a foundation for future growth, enabling us to scale with confidence and continue meeting the changing needs of our customers and the patients they serve."
The Consumer Health Logistics Center features robotics, automated labeling and high-speed conveyors that reduce physical demand on employees, improve pick-and-pack accuracy and streamline operations. Safety technology, including underground wire-guided forklifts, is helping prevent accidents and creating a safer work environment.
Fully operational since July 2025, the Consumer Health Logistics Center created over 150 jobs, demonstrating Cardinal Health's continued investment in Ohio. Over the past five years, Cardinal Health has invested more than $115 million in Ohio with the construction of four new distribution centers and infrastructure and technology improvements in its existing Ohio-based facilities.
"Ohio is home to world-class health care facilities that continue to lead in innovation and patient care, and Cardinal Health's new Consumer Health Logistics Center is the latest example," said Governor Mike DeWine. "Adding 150 new jobs in central Ohio, this new facility, featuring the latest automation technology, will help strengthen the health care supply chain and ensure patients have access to the latest products and solutions."
